Get To Know: Sven Lung, CEO, Greenpark

Greenpark is a global data driven performance content and tech agency in 12 markets, enabling brands to consistently interact with their audiences through content that is more relevant and engaging to drive better conversions. Sven Lung, CEO of Greenpark, discusses his role at the company and how he believes every leader should embrace mindfulness practices as part of their routine.

Can you describe your role?

As the CEO of Greenpark, I oversee the global P&L to ensure the business generates sufficient revenue to support our team and operations. My responsibilities include monitoring cash flow, making strategic investment decisions and actively sourcing talent – I dedicate a significant amount of my time interviewing potential hires all over the world who can contribute to our vision.

I also serve as an ambassador for Greenpark, engaging with CMOs and industry leaders across various markets, including the Philippines, Brazil, New York, Paris and London. My mission is to evangelise our services and capabilities, particularly in omnichannel search and social media. I also focus on organisational strategy, ensuring we have a well-structured team that aligns with our business objectives.

What would you describe as your most memorable achievement?

One of my most memorable achievements was securing a significant contract with Unilever shortly after launching Greenpark. After two years of refining our business model, Unilever recognised our potential and awarded us a multi-million-pound project across 13 markets. This partnership not only validated our approach but also set the foundation for our growth in the FMCG sector, where we continue to thrive. A decade later, we are a strategic partner for global clients as diverse as Kimberly Clark, Sanofi, Campari Group, Nestle and AIA – driving growth through our unique approach to omnichannel search and social, delivered by in-house performance-led digital squads.

What style of management do you employ in your current position?

I adopt a humanistic management philosophy, focusing on creating an environment where our teams can develop and do their best work. While I am firm on achieving objectives, empathy and listening are key to fostering a culture of strong collaboration and growth. Equally, my experience as an entrepreneur means that I encourage quick decision-making, proactivity and autonomy to turn great ideas into action.

What major areas of investment do you currently identify in your industry?

We are investing heavily in Generative AI, omnichannel search and social media strategies. With Gen Z increasingly using social platforms for search, these have emerged as critical areas for business growth. We try to partner with clients who recognise the importance of these trends for their own success.

We’ve recently seen that many organisations previously heavily focused on organic traffic from Google search results have significant gaps in their approach to understanding social search and appropriate omnichannel content creation. This is a significant growth avenue which we are investing in. I am delighted to have hired our new Head of Omnichannel Search and Insight arriving from Dentsu.

What advice would you offer someone aspiring to a C-level position in your industry?

My advice is to focus on building relationships and maintaining perseverance. You must be ambitious, driven and continually seek opportunities for engagement. Starting and maintaining connections with key stakeholders inside and outside of your business can lead to significant growth for both you and your organisation.

What productivity tips do you recommend?

I recommend daily exercise, aiming for at least eight hours of sleep and using tools like to-do lists to stay organised. Be goal-orientated and give yourself targets, short-term daily ones as well as long-term, then have the discipline to keep checking in with yourself to track progress. Having these good habits will help you maintain focus and drive.

What changes have you seen in your job role over the last year, and how do you see these developing in the next 12 months?

The past year has involved restructuring, particularly as clients adapt post-COVID. With new management in place, I anticipate a strong focus on planning for 2025, where we prioritise innovation and respond to the increasing demand for omnichannel search and social content across various sectors and industries. With our regional presence across EMEA, LATAM and APAC, we will continue to expand our business by growing the North America market. I believe we are on the brink of a significant year ahead for Greenpark.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about yourself?

I’ve been a dedicated yoga practitioner for over 17 years, which has greatly contributed to my ability to remain calm and centred amidst challenges. I encourage other leaders to embrace mindfulness practices as part of their routine.
